Subway Surfers Myths: True and False
The most interesting and one of my favorite topics is about subway surfers. There are many myths surrounding Subway Surfers. Some are real, and some are fake.
Many people think this game was made on a real story; some people think they can escape from the officer, and some think they can play as inspectors.
In this content, I will clear all these myths, whether they come to your mind or not. Sometimes, I also think about these myths; after a lot of work, I found some viral myths. I found some from Quora and some from Subway Surfers Wiki. You can also join the forum for interesting questions and their answers.
Subway Surfers Myths
Are the myths wrong or right? We give you evidence, and each myth has an explanation. Let’s start:
1: Can you escape from the officer?
Your game starts with a mischievous boy who starts running on rails because he is painting graffiti on trains, and a chubby cop notices him. Many people think the inspector will stop chasing when you run far away from him. This is wrong.
When you run far away, the inspector is not seen; it is true. But when you are suddenly hit by an obstacle from the side, the inspector will be close to you. The inspector’s running speed is less than that of the boy’s. He is struggling to catch, but he is not ready to give up.

2. Is there any end to Subway Surfers?
Well, this is an endless runner game. I don’t know why many people think this game has an end. The aim is to escape as far as you can from the officer. There is no running limit set by the developers. From 2012 to this year, no one has ended this game. Some people make fake edits to claim Subway Surfers has an end; in reality, there is no end to this game.
3. Can I unlock secret characters by performing special tricks?
First of all, there are no secret characters in the game. There are some default and time-limited characters in the game. Some people think they unlock a character by performing 1,000 jumps and scrolls and activating 100 hoverboards, one behind the other. This is totally wrong.
You can unlock characters with coins and keys, and some need character tokens and event coins. In contrast, you can unlock some characters by spending event coins and taking part in events. There is no other way to unlock characters.
4. Do the Subway Surfers have any underground level?
No, Subway Surfers does not have any underground level. In this game, your characters are running on rails, not underground. This myth is wrong.
Although there is an update on Subway Surfers underwater release during the summer holidays. After this release, many people think Subway Surfers has an underground level. But the reality is simple: Subway Surfers do not have any underground level.
5. Is the Subway Surfers inspector based on a real person?
This question is funny; many people think Subway Surfers Inspector is based on a real inspector, but fortunately, this is not true. When I came across this myth, I thought it was fake, but after doing a lot of research, I found that the role of the inspector is inspired by a real railway inspector from Denmark.
6. Can you play as the inspector?

Another funny and wrong myth. In Subway Surfers, you play the role of the mischievous character, not the angry inspector. At the same time, you have many characters in the game to change, but not the inspector. If you play as an inspector, then Jake will start chasing you, and it totally changes the game. It proves there is no way to play as an inspector.
7. Are Subway Surfers inspired by a true story?
Many people think Subway Surfers is based on a true story. They think this game was inspired by a boy who died on the rail tracks while running. This is a wrong myth. We already covered this topic in depth in our Subway Surfers Untold Story article.
I am giving a short overview here; I found that the developers who taught about the game were inspired by subway tracks, urban environments, and cartoonish characters. It was the inspiration behind the game, not the boy who died on the rails.
8. Do hoverboards make you invincible?
Hoverboards are helpful features of the game. They save your characters from crashing for up to 30 seconds. Many people think a hoverboard can make you invincible. This is a common myth; maybe a glitch appears in an update, and people think it is part of the game.
However, some helpful hoverboards have special powers. They speed up your characters, teleport your characters while changing lanes, and allow you to perform high jumps. But there are no hoverboards that offer to make your character invincible.
9. Can I upgrade my character’s running speed?
No, Subway Surfers does not offer to increase your character’s running speed. Subway Surfers only offers to customize your characters with extra outfits. The only way to speed up your characters: go as far as you can. With time, your character’s speed increases gradually. But you cannot increase or decrease it by your own hand.
10. Can you actually “win” Subway Surfers?
Subway Surfers is an endless runner game, so there is no final level or official “win” condition. The main objective is to survive as long as possible while avoiding trains, obstacles, and the inspector.
Your success is measured through score, distance, and coins collected, not finishing the game. As the speed keeps increasing over time, the challenge becomes harder, making it a game of endurance and skill rather than winning.
11. Do power-ups permanently increase abilities?
No, power-ups in Subway Surfers do not permanently increase abilities. Items like Jetpack, Coin Magnet, Super Sneakers, and Score Boosters only work during a single run. Once the run ends, all effects reset.
These power-ups are designed for temporary advantages like better survival and higher scores, while permanent upgrades (like coin upgrades) are separate and purchased using in-game currency.
Why do these myths exist?
Some people, to get fame, start spreading edited shorts to show people a different storyline. Normal people get fooled by them.
Sometimes, glitches appear in the game due to some problems. Subway developers fix them as soon as possible by releasing patch updates.
We covered all famous and interesting myths that exist; there are many more myths that exist; if you want more, you can tell us, and we will provide the myths part two.
Finals Words
Many viral myths are wrong, and we have proved some of them; avoid these myths so as not to get lost in thought and forget them. We proved many myths are false, such as the claim that the game is inspired by a true story and that you can play as an inspector. We will meet you with new content.
